I have always wanted to know how people manage the draw-dropping-simplistic-minimalistic look. I never really could figure it out. Their photos on social media made them look so appealing and I always wondered why are you so perfect?! I found out the tricks to make a clean "blogger look."I promise you, you have all that you need in this day in age, you just need to know how to work it. Here are 5 tips: Use your smartphone. Seriously, nowadays phone cameras are so great that you don't need a big fancy camera to take quality photos.I used my iPhone 6s Plus to take this picture. Use the iPhone Fade filter The iPhone comes with this added bonus for its users. No need to do any extra work.I know there is a way to do it on VSCO for people who do not own an iPhone (Join the team LOL), I will be researching it and do a separate blog on it, stay posted! Find a Place with Great Lighting. Taking a picture inside your while it's raining is like the best thing. The lighting is not direct, it is almost spread out through the room. This makes the perfect atmosphere for picture taking. It doesn't always rain, except if you're in Europe of course, but you can use the lighting by your window. The trick is to not use direct light, it's going to create shadow and reflections. You don't want that. Find the best time that the light in your space is spread throughout the room, and set up your space. Create a Highlight Piece. Arranging objects in a visually pleasing way and shooting from above is an art that anyone can do. The items that you're taking pictures of should counter balance in terms of color. Have a pop of color because it brings such life to your picture and it even becomes eye-catching. Since every item in my picture was so dark, I added my watch from Folsom & Co and it gave my photo so much character. If you're going for the minimalistic look, go for a brown, or pastel colors for a pop of color. The background must also match the items. I used white cause who doesn't like a white background lol. It just brings everything together and compliments the highlight piece. It's just beautiful. Use the (Non-Flat-Lay) Flat-Lay. If you want to bring a little dimension to your flat lay, which I think personalizes each item in the picture, shoot it from the side. Your regular flat lay will be taken from above, while this one is more focused on a side shot. Another tip is to add an item that is almost blurred or halfway in the picture.I printed a picture and added it to this eye-catching beauty. It makes the picture interesting. Pro-tip: For some extra sprinkles of happiness to your photos, use the Moment lens. Trust me, you won't regret it! It's the next best thing after the DSLR. For mine, I used the Tele Lens, which zooms into the picture without distortion, something that the iPhone itself cannot do.
